For those customers who are located near our facilities
As our neighbor, we’re asking that you help us maintain safe, reliable service to you and those around you. Entergy employees and contractors working in and around substations and control centers are recognizable by signs on vehicles, apparel and hard hats.
These workers typically conduct normal maintenance and other activities during the day. Their work helps provide safe, reliable power to you and other customers.
If you observe someone who does not appear to be an Entergy worker or contractor near or inside our substation or control center, or see any other activity that doesn’t look right, please report it immediately. Do not initiate contact, obstruct actions or confront the individual.
Simply call 1-800-ENTERGY (1-800-368-3749) or dial 911.
When reporting suspicious activity
Be prepared to share what happened, where it happened, when it happened and how many people were involved.
Law enforcement may ask you to describe the age, gender, race, build, hair color and attire of the individuals you observed. They may also ask you to describe the make, model and color of any vehicles you saw at the scene, as well as the license plate number/state, any bumper stickers and/or any body damage or other identifying vehicle information.
Please stay safe.
As always, safety is our primary concern. As our neighbor, it's important to remember that unauthorized entry into Entergy facilities by anyone other than Entergy employees and contractors is extremely dangerous.
- STAY AWAY from substations.
- DO NOT let kids play or fly kites or toys near these areas.
- DO NOT go after balls, toys or any objects that go over the fence.
Stealing copper from an electric utility company is dangerous – and it’s a crime.
Copper theft carries very dangerous consequences, including serious personal injury, death, explosions, fires and electric outages. Copper theft also puts utility crews and other customers at risk.
Warning signs are posted around electric substations because of the very high voltages used. Contact with high voltages can cause immediate harm, including death. That is why substation entry is restricted to those properly trained to work on high voltage equipment. Unauthorized entry is a crime – so is stealing materials from the substation. Never enter a substation, or touch any electrical equipment, power lines, or anything that may be touching a power line.
We ask our customers to help us by reporting any suspicious activity at our substations or other facilities to the nearest law enforcement agency and to the company at 1-800-368-3749 (1-800-368-3749).
