  • Entergy Nuclear operates 10 sites and 12 reactors in Arkansas, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Michigan, Mississippi, Nebraska, New York and Vermont with the capacity to generate more than 9,200 megawatts of electricity to power to over 8,000,000 homes.

  • Vermont Yankee alone has prevented the emission of well over 100 million tons of fossil-fueled pollution since the beginning operations in 1972.
  • In 2008 Entergy invested nearly $2.7 million to help people in our communities improve their lives through environmental efforts, education training and local business development.
  • Entergy Nuclear recognizes nuclear's potential as a base-load power "eco-friendly" energy source. It is not reliant on variables of wind or solar yet has negligible impact on land, air and water.

Entergy James A. FitzPatrick Nuclear Station in Oswego, NY

Annual avoided environmental emissions by operation of FitzPatrick includes:
Sulfur dioxide: 12,097 tons;
Nitrogen oxide: 5,120 tons C02:
4.8 million metric tons

Entergy Grand Gulf Nuclear Station, Port Gibson, Miss.

Grand Gulf is one of the largest producers of nuclear power in the world. Two generation enhancements at the plant in 2002 increased the production of electricity to power 40,000 more homes.
